PM Hamza Arrives in Las Anod as Federal Government Expands Services in North Eastern State

LAS ANOD, Somalia — Somali Prime Minister Hamza Abdi Barre arrived in Las Anod on Sunday alongside a delegation of cabinet ministers as the Federal Government launched a series of public service and development initiatives in North Eastern State, underscoring Mogadishu's growing engagement with the regional administration.
The Prime Minister was welcomed at Las Anod Airport by leaders of North Eastern State, traditional elders, community representatives, and hundreds of residents who gathered to receive the federal delegation. The visit coincides with celebrations marking the first anniversary of the establishment of the North Eastern State administration.
Addressing supporters shortly after his arrival, Prime Minister Hamza thanked residents for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Federal Government's commitment to supporting the region's development and strengthening cooperation with its leadership.
"I sincerely thank you for your warm reception. I want you to know that I care deeply about you. We stand together, and I am pleased to join you in celebrating the first anniversary of your administration," the Prime Minister told the crowd.
According to the Prime Minister's Office, the visit will be accompanied by the rollout of a range of federal government programs designed to improve public service delivery in North Eastern State. Several ministries are expected to begin implementing projects covering essential sectors, reflecting the government's broader effort to expand state institutions and improve access to public services in newly established federal administrations.
