Kenya Airways cancels Nairobi–New York flights after severe U.S. winter storm

Mogadishu (Somali Report) - Kenya Airways has cancelled its Nairobi–New York flights following severe winter weather in the United States that has disrupted operations at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

In a customer update issued Sunday, the national carrier said a blizzard warning and heavy snowfall in New York had significantly affected airport operations, prompting authorities to suspend flight activities for specific periods effective February 22, 2026.

“As a result, and for the safety of our customers and crew, the following flights have been cancelled,” the airline said.

The affected services are KQ 002 from Nairobi (NBO) to New York (JFK), scheduled for February 22, 2026, and KQ 003 from New York (JFK) to Nairobi (NBO) scheduled for February 23, 2026.
